Das Erstgeborene... Dieses Lied ist für mich eines der wichtigsten auf dem Back In Time-Album. Es repräsentiert den Beginn von blended, unsere Anfänge. I'm Going Down ist (und bleibt) aber nicht allein deswegen eines meiner Favoriten. Der etwas härtere 2. Refrain gibt dem Song den nötigen Drive, ehe er in ein schönes, ruhiges Klaviersolo übergeht. Gegen Ende des Liedes haben wir ein peppiges Gitarrensolo eingebaut, das sich aufgrund seiner Rhythmik vom Rest dieser Nummer stark abhebt. Genauso wie der Anfang ist der Schluß sehr ruhig und mit viel Hingabe gespielt und gesungen. Ein passender Abschluß für diese sentimental angehauchte Ballade.
Obwohl wir mit I'm Going Down die Back In Time-Produktion gestartet haben und somit dieses Lied eigentlich als Studio-Versuchskaninchen herhalten musste, ist uns diese Aufnahme außerordentlich gut gelungen, wie ich finde.
